KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced, and highly motivated Senior Public Relations Specialist, to join our team. This position is based in Patuxent River, MD and will follow a hybrid schedule. This position is contingent upon contract award.

This position will perform Public Relations duties related to maintaining positive public image through public-facing communication for a NAVAIR PMA located in Patuxent River, MD.
Primary Duties:
This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance.
Compensation:
While skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary. Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines. The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000 to $110,000. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.

Primary Duties:
- Serves as a liaison between the organization and the public.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with media outlets, consumers, government employees, and public interest groups.
- Promoting and creating intended public image for the organization
- Developing communications plans for major milestone events
- Engage in promoting or creating an intended public image for individuals, groups, or organizations.
- Evaluates advertising campaigns to ensure consistency with the organization's public relations strategy.
- Write or select material for release to various communications media.
- Create written content for various media channels to include but not limited to press releases, articles, presentations, and digital/social media content.
- Manage communications projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery of products.
- Track and analyze communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee Public Relations efforts
- Strong customer relations, analytics, documentation skills
- Self-starter, highly motivated, strong work ethic with a commitment to quality
- Microsoft office suite proficiency, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to work within a challenging, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task and meet competing, deliverable deadlines
- Detail oriented
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear status and/or communicate issues
- Excellent public speaking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with media contacts and outlets.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technology
- Ability to create internal and external communications for government agencies
- Navy/NAVAIR experience preferred
- Graphics Design skills, preferred
- 10 years of experience working in Public Relations
- MA/MS degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, marketing, or related field
- In lieu of a Master’s degree, a Bachelors degree may be substituted. Plus, an additional two (2) years of experience working in Public Relations
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s degree may be substituted. Plus, an additional four (4) years of experience working in Public Relations
- In lieu of an Associate’s degree, an additional six (6) years of experience working in Public Relations may be substituted.
