Internal Position - Manager, Ship/Air Platform Programs

We are seeking a driven, people-first Manager, Ship/Air Platform Programs. This role is responsible for contracted program efforts within the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) Business Unit, under the direction of the NAE Business Unit Director.

Primary Duties:
  • Full technical authority and span of control for all efforts associated with the performance of the contracted programs, under the direction of the Executive Director or Business Unit Director depending on portfolio alignment.
  • Responsible for programs, contracts, and program execution, ensuring all statement of work and deliverable requirements are met.
  • Manages personnel, technical execution, and contract performance expectations
  • Functional leader for all program employees
  • Management of contract and program cost, schedule, and performance expectations
  • Ensures all required contract deliverables are completed adequately and submitted on schedule
  • Drives market growth of contracts to include customer identification, market penetration, proposal development, and leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers to identify opportunities for new services and further expansion of market capabilities.
  • Support the leadership team in converting strategic plans into actionable tactics that achieve growth targets and objectives
  • Recognize and execute business triggers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, business, finance, operations, or other related technical field.
  • Master’s degree in engineering, project management, business, finance, operations, or other related technical field, preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification highly recommended
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in project or program management, preferably in engineering or technical environments. At least five (5) of those years working with the DoD or related governmental organization.
  • Proven success managing multi-million-dollar programs with measurable outcomes
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in program management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana)/Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
  • Experience in program-level reporting, including KPIs, milestones, and executive dashboards
  • Direct experience managing a $5M+ budget, including forecasting, cost control, and ROI analysis, and tracking and reporting program-level profit and loss (P&L) performance
Clearance: This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. This position requires an ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance.

Compensation: 
While skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary. Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines. The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $190,000.00. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.
