This position will provide mechanical engineering support and will apply and integrate engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems. This position predominantly performs tasks under the guidance and supervision of journeyman/senior engineers and managers.

This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance.
Compensation:
While skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary. Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines. The estimated salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 annually. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.

Primary Duties:
- Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, test or evaluate digital equipment, hardware, or software development tasking. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
- Applies mechanical engineering experience in, but not limited to, system design and implementation, system integration, and system architecture design to perform engineering design and feasibility evaluation; component and system design engineering; or installation, testing, and evaluation of military IFF equipment, systems, and subsystems, as well as advanced technologies.
- Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analysis, reports, change proposals, and other engineering documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong customer relations, analytics, and documentation skills.

- Microsoft office proficiency.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear status and/or communicate issues.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technology and/or business processes and practices.
- Experience with PLM, MBSE, AutoCAD and 3D Modeling (e.g., Enovia, Cameo, Genesys, Ansys, Inventor, PTC Creo, SolidWorks, etc.) a plus.
- Experience with Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, MATLAB, Electronics and Instrumentation, Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics Based Design, Finite Element Analysis, etc. a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
